Charles “Chas” Murcott is a Mining Engineer with over 25 years’ experience working within Australia and abroad, with a significant portion of his career in Tasmania. Prior to joining KIS, Chas was the Mining Manager at Kingrose Mining Limited (ASX: KRM) Way Linggo Project in Indonesia.

His previous experience in Tasmania includes Operations Manager with Venture Minerals Limited (ASX: VMS) as Operations Manager of the Riley DSO Project and Mining Manager/Alternate General Manager at BCD Resources Tasmania Mine at Beaconsfield.

Mr Murcott has a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Hons) from University of Queensland, holds a 1st Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency and holds a Diploma of Business ‐ Frontline Management.


Metallurgical Manager

Alvin is an accomplished mining professional, with over 30 years’ experience and has been involved in designing, building, commissioning and operating a number of processing facilities around the world as well as in Tasmania. Alvin has worked in operating mines, engineering offices and construction sites in various roles including operations, research, projects, design, construction, commissioning and training.


Consultant Geologist
BSc (Hons) M. Econ. Geol.

Tim Callaghan holds a BSc (Hons) and a Masters of Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania. Tim has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry in both production and exploration roles, involving a diverse range of target commodities including Cu, Au, Zn, Pb, Ag, Ni, Fe, Al, W, Sn and mineral sands. Tim has overseen the management of mineral production and exploration teams on surface and underground mine sites and remote exploration camps within Australia and Latin America. Tim’s career commenced with the Goldfields Group working throughout Australia and South America between 1990 and 2003 on a number of exploration and mine sites including Renison Bell, Pine Creek and the Henty Gold Mine. During this time, he was also involved in project development and acquisition for the Goldfields Group throughout Australia and overseas in Bolivia and Chile.

Between 2004 and 2009 Tim worked with Allegiance Metals as part of the management team developing and commissioning the 900tpa Avebury Nickel Mine in Western Tasmania until its eventual sale to Zinifex Ltd. Since 2009 Tim has been working in his own consultancy specializing in resource estimation, feasibility studies, near mine exploration and project reviews.


Environmental Management and Planning Consultant
B.Econ, B, Sci (Hons), Grad Dip URP

Evan Boardman is the Director of e3planning and is a Strategic, Economic & Environmental Planning Consultant, providing Development and Environmental Management expertise to the mining and development industry and has been environmental consultant to King Island Scheelite for over 10 years. He has a qualifications in Environmental Management, Economics and Urban and Regional Planning. His experience and background over 20 years brings with it an extremely well-developed network of contacts within the development industry, local, state and federal government agencies.

He has written Environmental Effects Reports Public Land Use Management Plans, Environmental Protection Policies, Planning Scheme Amendments, Community Development Schemes, Planning Scheme Provisions and commercial, residential, open space and tourism Precinct Plans.

He is past acting president of The Planning Institute of Australia (TAS), past president of Sustainable Living Tasmania Inc, a member of the Executive Council of the Property Council of Australia, was a Board Member of the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand (Tas) and a member of the Policy Committee of the Housing Industry Association.


Chief Financial Officer

Megan is a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary who has over 18 years’ of commercial and public practice experience. She was part of the senior executive team which successfully listed Cuesta Coal on the ASX in 2021 and has been a senior executive for companies with projects in Australia, Mongolia, Tanzania and Madagascar.

Ian was appointed as Company Secretary on 3 August 2005.

Ian is a qualified Company Secretary and Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in businesses operating in Australia and overseas. Mr Morgan’s experience includes many years in the resource sector. He provides secretarial and advisory services to a range of companies and is company secretary of other public listed companies.
